Aviolinx Provides Volcanic Plotter Solution2010-06-08
While the after effects of the volcano Eyjafjallajokull are slowly beginning to dissipate, scientists warn that an even greater concern is the adjacent and more dangerous Katla volcano. During the last two weeks of May 2010, Katla’s volcanic activity had alarmingly, increased by 200%.

The estimated cost to the airline industry due to Eyjafjallajokull’s eruption is a staggering 200 million dollars per day. If Katla volcano erupts (as scientists predict it will) the potential effects are likely to be far more devastating than the latest eruption.

Icelandic President Ólafur Grímsson has warned governments around Europe that a significant eruption at Katla volcano is close. "We [Iceland] have prepared ... it is high time for European governments and airline authorities all over Europe and the world to start planning for the eventual Katla eruption," he said.

Aviolinx Managing Director Claes Eriksson stated, “In light of these recent statements, we have reacted in a pro-active way by developing a web based solution that is specifically designed for monitoring and planning around ash cloud disruption. Been able to view an ash cloud and your stored flight plan will certainly assist the airline’s pilots and planning departments. We consider the Ash Plotter as a ‘must have tool’ for all airlines. Keeping this in mind we are releasing this product out to market for just 1,900 EUR per license”.

Aircraft Turnaround Monitoring System (ATMS)2010-04-09
At Aviolinx we fully understand that one of the greatest aspirations for airlines and other airport-based companies is to improve the efficiency and flexibility of ground handling in order to lower operating costs and reduce flight delays.
It is a disturbing fact that ground delays result in unnecessary costs of millions of euros per year, are often caused by factors within the airline´s control.

At Aviolinx we totally understand the complexities of aircraft turnaround and the spiralling costs involved due to delays, of which the average cost per minute of delay is between 50 & 100 Euros!

Aviolinx have now developed the ‘Aircraft Turnaround Monitoring System’ (ATMS) designed to greatly improve operational punctuality (which of course equates to lower costs) but also to improve customer service.

ATMS captures a time stamp of each and every event undertaken on a turnaround and then displays the "snapshots" in a clear and concise real-time view. Not only does ATMS get to the root cause of the delay it also provides a warning of a potential delay ‘before’ it happens, allowing the airline or handling agent to take appropriate action. Operational managers can reap the rewards of the analysis of this data to ensure that marked improvements are made.

ATMS enables both the airline and ground handlers to dramatically improve their utilisation of resources and thus deliver much improved overall results.
All real-time information for each flight can be made available to supervising personnel in operations control so as to give an overall real-time graphical operational picture which allows for proactive and efficient management of the entire operation.

Hotel Bookings become easier to manage with our new module2010-03-15
AvioLinx have just launched their latest web based solution. This hotel management system has been developed to simplify the hotel booking process.
An AvioLinx spokesperson said, “Giving an airline the ability to push new bookings, cancellations, name changes etc, directly to the hotel via the web and allowing the hotel to confirm directly is a sure way to save money through miscommunication accurate communication”.

The system works in conjunction with the Airline’s host crew system. When a booking(s) etc is required the process is efficiently managed by the system with very little interaction required.

The user simply sets a time span and / or stations they want to filter on. The intuitive screen then shows the hotel requirements for each day. One segment of the booking highlights the requirements for that day, the corresponding part of the booking will be colour coded indicating how many have actually been sent, confirmed or denied.

By clicking on one day, the user gets access to an array of data, crew member details, check in and out times, transport information and the planned cost for each stay.
The screen also has the ability to display the total planned cost for each day by station / hotel.

Semi automatic functions
From this screen (by multiple select or individually select) the user is able to push a preformatted email to the hotel(s). In that email there will be a URL, which takes the hotel operator directly to a web screen where they can confirm or deny the bookings.

3A
An exciting new internet based service that offers airlines, aircraft brokers and tour operators the opportunity to determine aircraft availability promptly and effectively.

3A (Automated Aircraft Availability system) coordinates the main aspects of aircraft chartering including, real time marketing of aircraft availability and a unique way of obtaining aircraft capacity.

This multi billion EUR market is, by our standards, archaically served from a system point of view and in some cases still by pen and paper!
The lost business opportunities, caused by the lengthy time factor of many current processes are simply unacceptable to the airlines or their customers.

Aviolinx are proud to introduce 3A to its ever growing portfolio, an automated system which revolutionizes the whole process of this business.
By utilising the airlines scheduling system, vital information is extracted such as intervals between block hours and aircraft geographical position thus ensuring a much slicker, profitable and cost effective process.

Aviolinx offers customers live webinar demonstrations2009-10-06
Last week, AvioLinx hosted their first customer webinar to demonstrate the ‘Airpug’.
Spokesperson for AvioLinx said, “This technology is a perfect way for us to demonstrate the many benefits of our airline mobile solution. The aim of each short webinar is to offer the Airline enough information about our product and its functionality for them to make a simple assessment: “Might this be something that will benefit our airline?”

It also provides the airline with an in-sight of what can be achieved via a mobile-phone. We are incredibly proud of what we have done and urge airlines to take this opportunity to see it first hand. We are also more than happy to arrange an on-site meeting or demonstration.”
